KATHMANDU, June 17: The Upendra Yadav-led faction of Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) has decided to knock at door of Election Commisison (EC) again to seek its official recognition as the JSP.
A meeting of the party's central executive committee held on Thursday made a decision to this effect, according to a Executive Committee member Mohammad Istiyaq Rai.
The Yadav-led faction has decided to knock again the doors of the EC after the election body earlier did not recognize action taken against rival faction leaders by both the Yadav-led faction and the Mahantha Thakur-led faction of the JSP. Party leaders said the decision to file application again for the official recognition was made as per the suggestions given by legal professionals.
The meeting has decided to seek clarification from nine leaders of the party who decided to join the Oli-led government against the party's official decision. The party has reached on the verge of formal split as the Mahantha Thakur-led faction has joined the government.
The meeting of the Yadav-led faction of the JSP has also decided to seek clarification from four lawmakers of the party in Lumbini Province who breached the parliamentary party's whip. Similarly, the meeting has decided to ask the government to withdraw the decision made through the annual budget to export sand, stones and pebbles.

The meeting has also directed party leaders and cadres to involve themselves in rescue and relief to those affected by the flood and landslides in various parts of the country.
