Hydro plant worker swept away by Ikhuwa River in Bhojpur found dead

TAKSAR, July 31:  The dead body of a worker, who had gone missing after being swept away by floods, has been found.

DSP Yubraj Timilsina at the District Police Office said that Ramesh Tharu,30, of Bara Bardiya Rural Municipality-3, Bardiya, was discovered dead today at Satighat of the Arun River. Tharu was an employee of the Ikhuwa-Khola Hydropower Project (IKHP) of Ikhuwa River under construction in Gothe Bazar, Salpasilichho Rural Municipality-4 in the northern part of Bhojpur,

On Tuesday, two workers at the IKHP were swept away by the floods of the Ikhuwa River. Shyam Kumar Tharu, 26, who was with Rsamesh Tharu, remains  missing.  DSP Timilsina said that a search operation to locate him is currently underway.

Similarly, Ram kisan Tharu, 26, who was affected by the floods, was rescued by the locals. A team from Police Station Chowki Danda, Area Police Office, Dingla and Temporary Base Camp Chowki Danda of Armed Police Force (APF) has been deployed for a search operation to locate the missing persons.
