KATHMANDU, Sept 28: The women volleyball championship of the highest prize is beginning tomorrow. Nepal Volleyball Association and Adhiawadhi Foundation of India are jointly organizing the championship. 

Organising a press conference to share information to this regard in Kathmandu on Friday, the Association said the championship would run till October 3. 

The winner team will bag Rs 600,000 while first runner-up and second runner-up get Rs 300,000 and Rs 150,000 respectively. This is the highest prize being conferred on in the history of volleyball competition. 

All the games of the championship will be held at covered hall of Tripureshwor-based National Sports Council. A total of six groups—New Diamond, Chitwan Tigers, Tribhuvan Army, Armed Police Force, Nepal Police and Pokhara Pinkage are participating in the Championship. 

The best player would be provided a scooter and Rs 50,000, said Association General Secretary, Jitendra Bahadur Chand.
