Women Caucus condemns minister's action

KATHMANDU, March 18: Women Caucus, the group of women members in the Constituent Assembly (CA), has denounced Minister for Irrigation Mahendra Yadav for using abusive language against Bindra Hada, secretary of the ministry last week.



Issuing a statement Sunday, lawmaker Kalpana Rana, coordinator of the caucus, demanded that the government ensure that women official will not face such situation in the days to come.[break]



The statement said such behavior by ministers would discourage women civil servants despite state´s commitment to proportional representation of women in all state bodies.
