Where have we reached walking along the realm of intellectuality and the mainstream of development brought by the gust of evolution that we are yet studying? The journey all of us started together, with the same number steps, towards the same direction. What have we come to suppose of ourselves? What have we become? Have we actually succeeded in walking out of the darkness that we always dreaded to the light we have always thought of reaching and shouting out to? The opinions vary.
The companion we sought the change, the progress with; where is she? Where has our complementary half reached, whom we set for the journey out with? What do we account her for? Is it by choice, obligation or the feeling of superiority over the one that has been one of the pillars for the evolution of which we are this proud? Why is it that we count her value as per the parts below our waist consider her?
Having set out for the journey together, with the same number of steps and the same struggle, what do we have that makes us superior to her, such that, we count her nothing beyond how our sexuality defines her? What is it that makes us superior? What is it that we deny our companionship and even try to discard the very root of her belonging and existence?
Physical strength? Courage? Endurance? Intellectuality? Influence? Character? Will power? OR any other tendency? Capacity? What type of capacity?
Are we actually better than the other half that the world is made of? I believe it is nothing but our opinion that has made it so.
The physical strength and endurance we talk of, even brag about, and the test of strength, courage or endurance that she faces can never be compared and are never meant to be dueled with each other. The bullets that hit us at war which we brag about never actually prove our strength or endurance because a mere 17 bullets on our limbs can never equal the pain, the frustration and the emotions that she goes through while bringing lives out to the world, such as ourselves. She also has fought wars to defend the country, to protect her loved ones. She too has faced bullets and also has bled her guts out. She also has carried weapons when necessary. Nevertheless, she never throws her talks of strength, courage or endurance at us because action does speak more than words. Hence it is our baseless sense of judgment and misinterpretation of scenarios that has placed her this low in all of our eyes.

Though we have come through the same route, we can never possess emotions as profound as hers, simplicity as calm as her, the endurance as deep as hers, the bonds as strong as hers, the generosity as dimensional as hers and the existence as beautiful as hers. She is the one who fights with death to give a new life and protects and perseveres. She is the very root of our existence. She has given us so much and what have we given her in return? Acids in her face? Rape? Gang-rape? Murder? Beatings? Burning her alive in the name of dowry? Smothering her on our worthless whims? Treating her as a mere piece of clothing out of our closet? Compressing her thoughts so much till they explode? All this to prove our worth? For the vague honor which is baseless without her? Not only the honor but our very existence is baseless without her.
Where's the honor in asking for dowry in order to marry a girl who leaves her home to make your house a "home" and brutally murdering her creed, her voice, her desires and burning her alive in case the demand is not fulfilled?
Where's the honor, the "love" you claim to have when you are ready to spill burning acid on her face just because she denies your whim to possess her?
Where's the honor, the pride when you have enough to spend on your son's whims and not a bit to spend on educating "her"?
Where's the honor, the love, the sense of parenthood when you have enough to pay her husband for her marriage and not a penny to spend for her education?
How do you call yourself human when you have to rape your own daughter, a little kid or any woman to quench your thirst for body?
Not just the honor, but where does all of your pride, self-respect, strength, courage, compassion or the "human", you're said to be, disappear when she begs for mercy, pleads for help, cries in disgrace when she's brutally raped, when bottles of acid are splashed on her face and even when she has to discard the household and all rituals and live in a shed in her periods?
This is all our "opinion" that has shaped our world and the dimensions that we see it in. We have created no other field views to see the world that we have created. Believing that she has no place in our world, believing that she has no meaning of existence without "us", believing that we are at the pinnacle of evolution, believing that "she" should always serve under "us", believing that she exists for our whim, believing that she is nothing without "us" is being vague, being ignorant and being so carried away that we see nothing beyond "us" and we are the only. This is the opinion that has caused the scars in the face of mankind, the scars of acids, rape, dowry and the violence against a beautiful creation of evolution which we have caused on support of our so-called honor, pride, courage, and manhood to quench our thirst for body, lust that has always driven us and the "opinion" that we possess and fight for.
At times like these, due to weak judiciary and numerous interventions, the culprits are spared unharmed. It is therefore us to take steps, and act against such disgrace of our society. It is us who must thrive forward and present the culprits to justice and force the authorities to take strict actions against such heinous acts.
We must know and understand very well that women have equally contributed to the development of this world as much as us, but our eyes are so used to noticing the masculine names upfront that we barely overcome the vagueness diving into the issue. Madam Curie, Lady Augusta Ada Lovelace, Pasang Lhamu Sherpa, Valentina Tereshkova , Malala Yusafzai, Mother Teresa, those 46 Nobel laureates, even those fighters at Nalapani who bravely protected our border, and many more. These are just a few examples of what women have accomplished and may accomplish all over.
All she needs is a base, an opportunity, a change in opinion. And that change in opinion is certain to change the fate of our society, drive our baseless assumptions out and bring about the world which is actually a place we can persevere, live, cherish and develop. Those opportunities and changes must not be focused to or looked at marking occasions like the Women's day. They should actually be sought and fought for every moment until actual achievement is confirmed.
