Police arrested Tara Jirel, 40, a resident of Jiri, Dolakha district, from Balkot at 7am Tuesday. She had been staying at Thimi.
According to locals, she abducted eight-year-old Susmita Basnet of Balkot on Aug 24.
Jirel admitted to the police that she abducted Basnet, luring her by offering a candy. She said she kept the girl at one of her relatives´ house at Nagdhunga.
Abduction of Basnet came to light after the locals arrested Jirel while she was trying to abduct another child at Balkot on Tuesday morning.
The Balkot Police Sector has handed over the woman to the Metropolitan Police Circle, Thimi for necessary action.
