Woman found murdered in Gaurighat, husband arrested

Police have arrested her 35-year-old husband Tenzing Sherpa, a resident of Khandbari Municipality-6, Sankhuwasabha, on suspicion of murder.

KATHMANDU, Oct 13: A 40-year-old woman identified as Bimala Tamang was found murdered in her rented room at Gaurighat Milan Chowk, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-7, on Sunday.



Police have arrested her 35-year-old husband Tenzing Sherpa, a resident of Khandbari Municipality-6, Sankhuwasabha, on suspicion of murder.

According to police, Tamang was discovered dead in her room on Sunday afternoon. Following the discovery, an investigation was launched, which revealed her husband’s involvement in the incident. He was later arrested by a team from the Gaushala Police Circle.


Preliminary investigations suggest that an argument between the couple escalated into a violent altercation, during which Sherpa allegedly assaulted Tamang and struck her with a stone, leading to her death.
