ITAHARI, May 19: A woman accused of detaining a young girl and forcing her into sexual activities along with 17 others has been arrested from Sunsari. According to the police offices of Inaruwa and Itahari, cases have been filed against all of them.
As informed by the police, Sabina Khatun, the owner of Roshan Hotel of Inaruwa, along with Sajad Siddiqi of Bhokraha has been charged with human trafficking. While Sabina has been arrested for detaining girls and forcing them into sexual activities with her customers, Sajad has been accused of being involved in such activities.

Sabina, a resident of Inaruwa-3, had apparently detained a sixteen years old girl from Pathlaiya, Bara and two girls from Sunsari, Barahakshetra forcing them into prostitution.A complaint was filed at the police station according to which the sixteen years old girl was detained on April 14 while the two other girls were captured on May 12. The two girls from Barahakshetra are reportedly 16 and 24 years old. Kamal Khatri, police inspector at the District Police Office, said the incident came to light after the girl from Pathlaiya filed a complaint after being unable to bear the torture.
"As soon as she was able to escape from the hotel, the girl came to us and filed a complaint," Inspector Khatri said, adding," When we reached the hotel, Sajad was caught having sex with one of the victims."Police had no idea that there was a brothel-like hotel in Inaruwa until they reached there. It has been revealed that Sabina had assured the girls of impressive salaries for working at the hotel but later took complete control of them and forced them in the illegal act.
Reportedly, Sabina used to invite her customers by telephoning them.Similarly, police have arrested a couple from Dream Guest House of Inaruwa-4 on the charge of being involved in sexual activities. Police have also arrested the owner of the hotel and intensified further investigation.
Meanwhile, police have been successful in nabbing 12 more people including Raj Kumar Subedi, owner of Ganapati hotel, customers Bharat Bista of Kailali and Mahesh Kunwar of Hetauda from various hotels and lodges. Nine of them are commercial sex workers, according to the police. They are all charged with public offence case.Acting on a tip off, Itahari police had arrested five people engaged in illegal sexual activities just three days ago. Just two weeks ago, 25 couples were arrested from Itahari for the similar crime.
