SURKHET, July 8: District Court, Surkhet has slapped two men with seven years in jail for sexually assaulting two young girls from the Raute village in the district. The court also slapped a fine of Rs 200,000 each.
In addition to this, the court sentenced the hotel owner three years and six months in jail and Rs 100,000 in fine for his role as an accomplice of the crime.
Three arrested for sexually abusing Raute women
District Judge Dr. Rajendra Prasad Acharya sentenced Chauman Gharti Magar and Bhupendra Budha Magar seven years in jail and Rs 200,000 each in fine. Similarly, the hotel operator Man Bahadur Pun has been slapped with three years and six months in jail and Rs 100,000 in fine.
The three were put on trial on June 30, 2021. They were accused of raping two young girls on June 4, 2021 in the hotel run by Pun.
The convicts had allegedly lured the girls to consume alcohol before the incident.
