With 525 new cases in last 24 hours, Nepal’s COVID-19 tally nears 25,000

KATHMANDU, Aug 13: As many as 525 new cases of COVID-19 were detected across the country in the last 24 hours, taking Nepal’s COVID-19 tally to 24,957.

According to Dr Jageshwar Gautam, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), 525 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed through 9,859 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests in the past 24 hours.

As of Thursday, 8,025 active cases Of COVID-19 are currently undergoing treatment at various isolation centers across the nation. There are 725 active cases in Province 1 and 3,589 in Province 2. Similarly Bagmati Province has reported 1,703 cases, Gandaki Province 242 cases and Province 5 has reported 680 cases. Likewise 216 cases have been reported in Karnali Province and 870 cases in Sudur Paschim Province.

Likewise, 109 COVID-19 patients recovered and returned home on Thursday.

So far, 95 people have succumbed to the novel coronavirus diseases (COVID-19) in Nepal. Eight people have died of COVID-19 in Province 1, 39 in Province 2, 18 in Bagmati Province, six in Gandaki Province, 12 in Province 5, four in Karnali Province and eight in Sudur Paschim Province.
