KATHMANDU, Aug 30: Nepal on Sunday recorded the highest single-day fatalities attributed to COVID-19 with 14 deaths, taking the toll to 221.
At a media briefing on Sunday afternoon by the Ministry of Health and Population, Jageshwar Gatuam, the ministry spokesperson said that ten males and four females succumbed to novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the past 24 hours.
One woman each from Sunsari, Bara, Mahottari and Kathmandu and one man each from Sunsari, Morang, Rautahat, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, and Nawalparasi succumbed to COVID-19, according to Gautam. He also said that two men each from Rupandehi and Mahottari died of coronavirus in the past 24 hours.

"With 14 new fatalities, the number of people dying of coronavirus has reached 221," he said.
