Wins for Gyanodaya, Kavya

KATHMANDU, Nov 13: Host Gyanodaya School and Kavya School have advanced to the quarterfinals of the boys’ category in the ongoing 24th Gyan Carnival on Sunday. 

Gyanodaya defeated Malpi School 2-0 with the help of goals from Palsang Wangdi Tamang and Sijen Byanjankar. In another match, Kavya recorded 3-1 win over Sudesha School to book its place in the last eight as the group winner. Sanjay Khatri netted a brace for the winning team Kavya, while it received the other goal as a gift after Sudesha’s player put the ball in own net. Despite the defeats, Malpi and Sudesha also advanced to the quarterfinals as the group runner-ups. 

Now in the last eight clashes, Kavya will take on Gyan Niketan School, while Gyanodaya will face Innovative School. Similarly in the other quarterfinal matches, Sudesha will compete against Pushpasadan School, while Malpi will face Shreekul Vidyalaya. 

In the boys’ basketball event, Hims School recorded 30-19 win over Awareness International Academy, whereas Pushpasadan earned hard-fought 24-23 victory over Malpi. In the other match of the same section, Deneb School beat Kavya 52-20. 

In the girls’ section, Gyanodaya defeated Malpi 53-29 while Reliance School saw off Kavya 39-15.
