The team distributed the relief materials worth more than Rs. 1.5 million to 624 households of the VDC in presence of the local administration. Each household received 30 kg rice, 2 kg pulses, 2 cooking oil, 2kg salt, a sheet of tarpaulin and a piece of blanket. Some medical supplies are also handed over to Nepal Army personnel. A team of 40 volunteers with 5 loaded trucks from Kathmandu arrived to one of the most affected areas of the district.The locals have felt relief after receiving food and shelter. ''This is the first time that the relief has brought to our VDC,'' said Furba Tamang, a victim, adding that the government and other organizations should provide additional relief.
''After knowing that the people of this remote area have been deprived of basic needs since the earthquake, we rushed to reach community with supplies'' said Gyalpo Yonjan- Tamang from the team, who along with his friends has come all the way from United States for the relief support.
