Whereabouts of four missing in Dolakha landslide still unknown

DOLAKHA, Sept 29: The whereabouts of four people who went missing in a landslide at Bigu Rural Municipality-1 in Dolakha district on Saturday remains unknown.


Narendra Bahadur Pal and Shankar Chand of the Nepali Army, Garundal Battalion, and Krishna Prasad Chaudhary from Pratappur of Nawalparasi and Jayaram Tamang of Bigu Rural Municipality-1, Dolakha, went missing after the landslide struck a two-storey building of the Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Project.

Of the missing, Chaudhary, 35, and Tamang, 30, were contract-based employees of the project.  


Chief district officer of Dolakha, Tubraj  Pokharel, said a rescue team is yet to reach the incident site. 


Two Nepali Army personnel and two Project workers have been reportedly missing in the incident that occurred at 11:00 am on Saturday, he said.
