Gautam Baral, the Pokhara manager for Buddha Air, informed Republica that the passenger opened the emergency door while the plane was on the taxiway, preparing to move from taxiing to the runway.

Upon inquiry, the passenger mentioned that he had opened the door out of curiosity. Although the flight was temporarily affected, the passengers were subsequently accommodated on the next flight to Kathmandu at 10:20 AM.

Baral mentioned that while the morning flight faced a temporary disruption, regular flight operations have resumed. He also mentioned that the passenger, who did not provide a clear reason for opening the door, is currently undergoing interrogation by security personnel and airport terminal staff.
