KATHMANDU, Dec 28: Seven aftershocks have been recorded in western Nepal since December 16.
According to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre (NEMRC), the tremors have been felt in the region during this period.
An aftershock measuring 3.7 on the Richter scale occurred near Lali, Kalikot, at 11:37 p.m. on Friday (December 27).
Jajarkot experiences 444 aftershocks till 11:30 AM
The NEMRC reported that an aftershock measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale struck near Dhamena, Bajhang, on December 17. Likewise, a 4.1-magnitude tremor was recorded with its epicenter in Dhamena, Bajhang, on December 18.
On December 19, an earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale struck Nesyang, Manang. Additionally, an earthquake of magnitude 5.2 hit Bajura on December 21, while a magnitude 4 tremor occurred near Api Mountain in Darchula at 9:25 p.m. on December 24, according to the Centre.
An aftershock measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale occurred on December 26, with its epicenter in Naikwada, Jajarkot.
The NEMRC also confirmed an earthquake measuring 3.7 on the Richter scale near Lali, Kalikot, at 11:37 a.m. on Friday. Earlier, on November 1, an earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale had struck Ramidanda in Jajarkot. Experts stated that five aftershocks have occurred in western Nepal following this major earthquake.
