KATHMANDU, Jan 23: A week-long free mask distribution and public awareness program has been launched at the joint initiative of Metropolitan Police Circle, Thankot and Thankot Jaycees.
Manoj Kumar Shrestha, a police inspector at the Metropolitan Police Circle, Thankot, said that the campaign was launched to protect the general public from the increasing number of Omicron variant infections in the country.
Speaking on the occasion, Yogiraj Adhikari, National Vice-President of Nepal Jaycees, said that Jaycees has been working in collaboration with various organizations to make the general public healthy in the spirit of social responsibility.
On the occasion, 1,000 masks were distributed to drivers, conductors, passengers and pedestrians entering the Kathmandu Valley. The distribution of free masks will be conducted in Thankot, Nagdhunga, Gurjudhara, Naikap, Dahachok, Tinthan and other areas, according to Thankot Police.
