KATHMANDU, Feb 26: The Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast the possibility of snowfall in various parts of the country today.

The MFD reports that Nepal is currently experiencing the partial effects of a westerly low-pressure system.

As per the meteorological bulletin issued by the MFD at 6AM, hilly regions, including provinces of Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim, are experiencing partly cloudy to mostly clear weather.

Similarly, mountainous areas as well as the Madhesh Province, are mostly clear, while other parts of the country remain partly cloudy.

The department forecasts partly to mostly cloudy conditions across the nation this afternoon. Sporadic to light snowfall is expected in Gandaki, Karnali, and select high hilly and mountainous regions of Sudurpaschim Province.

MFD officials said that the weather will be partly to mostly cloudy nationwide, with the possibility of light snowfall in a few areas of the high hills and mountainous regions tonight.
