KATHMANDU, April 24: The Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has predicted partly cloudy weather in the hilly region and generally clear in remaining parts of the country. 

According to the MFD, the weather will be partly cloudy in the hilly areas of Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces and mainly fair in remaining areas of the country this afternoon. 

Light to moderate rain is likely to occur at a few places of Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. Light snowfall is forecasted to occur at one or two places of the high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. There is a possibility of thunderstorms in some places of the Terai including Lumbini province. 

Similarly, the weather will be partly cloudy in hilly regions of Koshi, Gandaki and Karnali provinces tonight. 

Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at one or two places of the hilly regions of Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces in the afternoon and night. 

In view of possible incidents of storms in some places of the Terai including Lumbini Province, the MFD cautioned the general public to adopt safety measures in the areas.
