KATHMANDU, Feb 4: The Department of Water Supply and Sewerage is set to launch a project for collecting rain water during the monsoon as part of a solution to drinking water crisis.
The department will identify the areas that face acute drinking water shortage and build artificial ponds for the residents in such designated areas.
Department's Under Secretary Arun Kumar Simkhada said the government planned to build ponds to run drinking water project. "We are targeting the places that face acute shortage of drinking water with this project," he added.
Under the project, the government has already built artificial ponds at Mahadevkhola in Bhaktapur and Patukhola in Dang to collect rainwater. RSS
