Thirty three of the 56 floodgates of the Koshi barrage have been opened and more gates will be opened with the rise in the water flow.[break]
Once the water flow crosses the 1,50,000 cusec, a red light alert will be shown at the barrage.
The villages near Koshi are under threat from the water flow.
The highest recorded flood in Koshi is 800,000 cusecs in early 1960s.
