KATHMANDU, Mar 29: Former vice-captain of Australian cricket team David Warner stepped down as the captain from his Indian Premier League club Sunrisers Hyderabad over ball-tampering incident.


“In light of recent events, David Warner has stepped down as captain of SunRisers Hyderabad. The new captain of the Team will be announced shortly.”

Earlier on Tuesday the Australian cricket authority suspended Warner along with other 2 players, Steve Smith and Cameron Bancroft, and sent home from South Africa. The details ruling about the players yet to come. 


After a CA investigation, all three players were found guilty of breaching article 2.3.5 of Cricket Australia’s Code of Conduct and will fly home from South Africa on Thursday.


Hyderabad informs that they will announce their new captain shortly.
