KATHMANDU, June 15: The Ward Chairman of Nagaraine Municipality Ward No. 2 in Dhanusha district, Bulan Yadav, has been arrested for accepting a bribe of Rs 70,000.
Ward secretary held with Rs 53,000 bribe
On Wednesday, Secretary of the same Ward, Amrit Narayan Mishra, was also apprehended along with the bribe. The Bardibas office of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) took action against Yadav and Mishra based on information that they had demanded bribes from service users in exchange for recommending the completion of road construction work.
CIAA Spokesperson Bhola Dahal stated that both individuals were arrested at Nagaraine Chowk, Dhanusha, in possession of the Rs 70,000 bribe. Currently, they are being detained, and further investigations are underway.
