Voting  restarts in Chitwan’s polling center after RSP apologizes

CHITWAN, April 23: The suspended polling has started in Naya Kiran Secondary School located in Ward No-11 of Bharatpur Metropolitan City of Chitwan.

Polling Officer Indra Sharma Dhungana informed Republica that voting started after four points were agreed upon in an all-party discussion.

In the discussion, it was agreed that Rabi Lamichhane should apologize for violating the code of conduct, send the matter to the office of the chief election officer, resume the election, tighten the security around 4,300 meters and enter the polling center by 5 PM.

The supporters of Rabi Lamichhane, chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and by-election candidate from Chitwan electoral constituency no 2, shouted slogans. The tension was created when the supporters of CPN-UML stopped the supporters of RSP who were shouting slogans.
