KATHMANDU, Nov 9: All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has initiated the voting process directly without conducting the opening session of the special general meeting.

In September, the majority members of ANFA submitted a petition to ANFA demanding the dismissal of President Pankaj Bikram Nembang along with General Secretary Kiran Rai with 19 allegations, including the one that the current leadership was unable to perform its duties and ANFA President and General Secretary have been actively engaged in actions detrimental to Nepali football. However, President Nembang opted to face the dismissal proposal on his own and took the issue to the special general meeting.

During the special general meeting, ANFA President Nembang, after his speech, attempted to speak on behalf of the proposer, Karma Tsering Sherpa, before the discussion on the vote of no confidence, which was the main agenda. However, when he was not given the opportunity to speak, supporters of the vote of no-confidence began chanting slogans.

A central member who attended the meeting stated that the police intervened after the environment became noisy and violent as the participants started pushing each other. "It had been decided last night that the proposer would speak on the issue, but after President Nembang denied him the opportunity, Sherpa walked out. Voting will resume shortly," said a member. He added that the police had been deployed after the clamor inside the hall, and voting was about to commence.

Representatives from the Asian Football Confederation are also present in the special general meeting. Representatives from 48 districts across the country are participating in the special general meeting. Including representatives from A, B and C division clubs.
