KHOTANG, July 21: People not included in the voter list in Khotang are thronging the election office in the district to get themselves registered with the Election Commission.
Dinesh Khatri, election officer at the District Election Office, Khotang said that since July 16, on an average 150 people per day are visiting his office to get themselves registered in the voter list. After the first and second phase of the local elections, the Election Commission has started updating the voter list. Those registered now will be able to vote in the upcoming provincial and national elections.
Local residents of the district aged 18 can register themselves in the voter list.
In the process of updating the voter list, the office will remove the name of those deceased and those who have permanently migrated from the district. The office has also requested to all eligible voters to register their name in the voter list.
