KATHMANDU, Nov 11: The voter identity card of the voters whose name has been enlisted in the electoral roll but yet to take their ID cards will be issued their ID cards on November 24 and 25 in the districts where the first phase election is taking place.
Similarly, the voter ID cards of voters whose name figures in the voters list but who have not taken their ID cards will be issued the ID cards on December 5 and 6 in the districts going to the polls in the second round elections on December 7.
Govt-issued ID cards can be used for voting
The Election Commission stated that the voter ID cards of the voters who got their names registered in the voters list till August 19 and who had reached 18 years until August 21 and those who had registered application for transferring their names to another place or for corrections in the voters name list would be made available to them from the respective voting centres on the stipulated dates.
Likewise, those who are yet to get the voters identity cards of the local level elections would also be given their ID cards on the said dates for the House of Representatives and State Assembly elections slated for November 26 and December 7.
The voters who have got thie ID cards in the local level elections can vote in the twin elections to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies on the basis of the same voter ID cards, according to the Election Commission.
