Have you heard about Maggie Doyne who runs the Kopila Valley Children's Home and School in Surkhet? This week, why don't you vote for Maggie as she is one of the 10 contenders for this year's CNN Hero of the Year award?

Maggie first arrived in Nepal as an 18 year old when she was on a trip around the globe in 2005. Her life changed when she met a six-year-old girl breaking stones on a river bank to make ends meet. She started the Kopila Valley Children's Home and School with her savings of USD 5,000. Now 10 years down the line, more than 300 disadvantaged children from the local area attend the school while 50 of them live in the Home. There have also been additions of a health clinic and a women's center.You can cast 10 votes each day, using your email address or through Facebook, till November 15.
