KATHMANDU, Sept 1: After the district administrations in the Kathmandu Valley imposed prohibitory orders to control the alarming rise in the cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) nearly two weeks ago, police personnel have been taking strict action against the people violating the orders.
Those facing police action include those coming out of their houses unnecessarily and those not wearing masks. They are usually kept at the holding centers for upto an hour and a half. During the period they are held, they are also told about COVID-19, its symptoms and safety measures against it.
According to police, those breaching the prohibitory orders include the general public and even high ranking officials.
The prohibitory orders which had earlier been imposed for a week starting August 19 midnight were extended for another week until September 2 midnight.
