Victims of burn injury brought to Kathmandu via Nepal Army’s helicopter

KATHMANDU, Feb 25: Two youths from Panchdev Vinayak Municipality-8 Kosedi of Achham, who were in a critical condition after being caught in the fire, have been brought to Kathmandu by a Nepali Army helicopter for further treatment at the initiative of the Prime Minister's Office.

KATHMANDU, Feb 25: Two youths from Panchdev Vinayak Municipality-8 Kosedi of Achham, who were in a critical condition after being caught in the fire, have been brought to Kathmandu by a Nepali Army helicopter for further treatment at the initiative of the Prime Minister's Office.


Himraj Rokamagar,21, and Piram Roka Magar,19, of the same place were seriously injured after falling into the house fire on February 23. As treatment was not possible in the district, they were admitted to Surkhet Hospital.

Among the injured, 80 percent of Himraj's body was burnt, while 36 percent of Piram's body was said to be burnt. 


After Surkhet Hospital was unable to provide treatment and it was recommended to be taken to Burn Hospital in Kirtipur, Kathmandu, the victim's family appealed to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal to initiate the rescue.


Considering the sensitivity of the incident, the Prime Minister's Office instructed the victims to be taken to the hospital immediately, the Prime Minister's Secretariat said. In coordination with the Ministry of Home Affairs, the injured were brought to Kathmandu by helicopter of the Nepali Army.
