IILAM, Jan 1: Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun on Saturday called for prioritizing organic tea production. 



The VP visited the Gorkha Estate located at Sundarpani of Suryodaya Municipality in Ilam and noted that the scope of organic tea is good in the world market, hence the need for producing organic tea for agricultural sector's development.

On the occasion, VP Pun held interactions with the factory management and workers including the farmers. He also inspected the tea garden at Kanyam and visited the Karphok Bidya Mandir Higher Secondary School based at Panchakanya area of Suryodaya Municipality. 


Prime Minister Agriculture Modernization Project 


Meanwhile, the District Agriculture Development Office, Ilam has launched Prime Minister Agriculture Modernization Project in order to upgrade the living standards of farmers. 


District Agriculture Development Office's Information Official, Prakashmani Kafle, shared that Rs 15 million had been received for operating Commercial Agriculture Production Center and Rs 7 million for Agriculture Production Centre. RSS
