His funeral rites is being performed at Pashupati Aryagaht today itself. “Preparation for his funeral procession is underway,” Ghimire’s son Himal told Republica.

Multiple myeloma-ridden Ghimire had been admitted to Om Hospital for chemotherapy one month ago. Since his condition was getting worse, he was hospitalized as per the doctor’s advice.
Ghimire was born on April 10, 1946 in Manthali of Ramechhap district. When cancer was diagnosed in him seven years ago, he wrote Antarmanko Katha which won him the most coveted award Madan Puraskar in 2064 BS.
Other acclaimed literary works by Ghimire are Lilam (2007 BS), Jagadishka Kathaharu (2029 BS), Sabiti (2032 BS), among others.
