The 60-point directives issued to the government by the parliamentary committee asks the ministry of agriculture to vacate the “squatters” from the place and develop the place into a fruits and vegetable market that meets international standards.
While Nepali Congress (NC) members in the committee spoke in favor of the committee´s decision, the Maoist members wrote a note of dissent against the committee´s directive arguing that the government should not vacate the place before making alternative arrangements for the squatters.
Earlier, the Public Accounts Committee had also made similar directives to the government.
