US dollar, other currencies witness fluctuations

Nepal Rastra Bank has set the foreign exchange rates for today. As per the central bank, the USD buying rate is Rs 138.31 and selling rate is Rs 138.91, higher than Thursday’s rates.

KATHMANDU, Jan 31: Nepal Rastra Bank has set the foreign exchange rates for today. As per the central bank, the USD buying rate is Rs 138.31 and selling rate is Rs 138.91, higher than Thursday’s rates. The exchange rate for 1 Euro is Rs 143.76 for buying and Rs 144.38 for selling. Likewise, the exchange rates are Rs 171.93 (buying) and Rs 172.68 (selling) for 1 British Pound Sterling. Buying and selling rates for the Swiss Franc are Rs 152.21 and Rs 152.87 respectively. 


For other major currencies, the buying and selling rates are as follows: 1 Australian Dollar at Rs 86.13 and Rs 86.50, 1 Canadian Dollar at Rs 96.00 and Rs 96.42, and 1 Singapore Dollar at Rs 102.34 and Rs 102.79.

Among Asian currencies, 10 Japanese Yen is valued at Rs 8.95 for buying and Rs 8.99 for selling. The Chinese Yuan trades at Rs 19.07 for buying and Rs 19.16 for selling. The Saudi Arabian Riyal stands at Rs 36.87 for buying and Rs 37.03 for selling, while the Qatari Riyal is priced at Rs 37.94 and Rs 38.10, respectively. 


For other regional and global currencies, the buying and selling rates are: 1 Thai Baht at Rs 4.10 and Rs 4.12, 1 UAE Dirham at Rs 37.66 and Rs 37.82, 1 Malaysian Ringgit at Rs 31.48 and Rs 31.62, 100 South Korean Won at Rs 9.59 and Rs 9.63, 1 Swedish Krona at Rs 12.54 and Rs 12.60, and 1 Danish Krone at Rs 19.27 and Rs 19.35. 


Additionally, the exchange rates for 1 Hong Kong Dollar are Rs 17.75 for buying and Rs 17.83 for selling. The Kuwaiti Dinar stands at Rs 448.37 and Rs 450.32, the Bahraini Dinar at Rs 366.89 and Rs 368.49, and the Omani Riyal at Rs 359.25 and Rs 360.81. The exchange rate for 100 Indian Rupees is set at Rs 160.00 for buying and Rs 160.15 for selling. 


The central bank has stated that these exchange rates are subject to revision at any time as required. Commercial banks may have different exchange rates, and the updated rates are available on the Nepal Rastra Bank's official website.
