Exchange rate update: US dollar stable, other currencies fluctuate

According to the rates set by the central bank, the value of the US dollar and some other foreign currencies remains unchanged. However, the euro, British pound sterling, Swiss franc, Danish krone, and Omani rial have appreciated, while the Canadian dollar, Singapore dollar, Thai baht, and Bahraini dinar have depreciated.

KATHMANDU, Jan 6: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has published the exchange rates for foreign currencies for today.


According to the rates set by the central bank, the value of the US dollar and some other foreign currencies remains unchanged. However, the euro, British pound sterling, Swiss franc, Danish krone, and Omani rial have appreciated, while the Canadian dollar, Singapore dollar, Thai baht, and Bahraini dinar have depreciated.


The buying rate for 1 US dollar is Rs 136.94, while the selling rate is Rs 137.54. Similarly, a euro is valued at Rs 141.17 for buying and Rs 141.79 for selling. The exchange rate for 1 British pound sterling is Rs 170.10 for buying and Rs 170.85 for selling, while 1 Swiss franc is set at Rs 150.76 and Rs 151.42 respectively.

The Australian dollar is priced at Rs 85.09 for buying and Rs 85.47 for selling. The Canadian dollar has a buying rate of Rs 94.78 and a selling rate of Rs 95.20. The Singapore dollar is valued at Rs 99.95 for buying and Rs 100.39 for selling.


For 10 Japanese yen, the buying rate is Rs 8.71, and the selling rate is Rs 8.74. The Chinese yuan is Rs 18.71 for buying and Rs 18.79 for selling. Similarly, the Saudi Arabian riyal is valued at Rs 36.46 for buying and Rs 36.62 for selling, while the Qatari riyal is Rs 37.56 and Rs 37.72 respectively.


The Thai baht is set at Rs 3.97 for buying and Rs 3.99 for selling. The UAE dirham is valued at Rs 37.28 for buying and Rs 37.45 for selling. The Malaysian ringgit has a buying rate of Rs 30.43 and a selling rate of Rs 30.56.


For 100 South Korean won, the buying rate is Rs 9.32, and the selling rate is Rs 9.36. The Swedish krona is priced at Rs 12.32 for buying and Rs 12.38 for selling, while the Danish krone is set at Rs 18.93 for buying and Rs 19.01 for selling.


The Hong Kong dollar is valued at Rs 17.61 for buying and Rs 17.68 for selling. The Kuwaiti dinar has a buying rate of Rs 443.80 and a selling rate of Rs 445.75. The Bahraini dinar is set at Rs 363.24 for buying and Rs 364.83 for selling. The Omani rial is priced at Rs 356.15 for buying and Rs 357.71 for selling. The exchange rate for 100 Indian rupees is Rs 160.00 for buying and Rs 160.15 for selling.


The central bank has stated that these exchange rates are subject to change at any time if necessary. Commercial banks may set different rates, and updated rates are available on the central bank's website.
