KATHMANDU, Dec 25: The value of US dollar has gone up, as per the new exchange rate set by Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) for foreign currencies for Wednesday. Other currencies, including the European euro, Canadian dollar, Chinese yuan, Saudi Arabian riyal, Qatari riyal, Thai baht, UAE dirham, Malaysian ringgit, Danish krone, Kuwaiti dinar, Bahraini dinar, and Omani riyal, have also seen a rise in their value.
The value of the Swiss franc, Australian dollar, Singapore dollar, South Korean won, and Swedish krona, on the other hand, has decreased.
The central bank set the buying rate for one US dollar at Rs 136.03 and the selling rate at Rs 136.63. Likewise, the buying rate for one European euro is at Rs 141.47 and the selling rate at Rs 142.10. The bank fixed the buying rate for one UK pound sterling at Rs 170.51 and the selling rate at Rs 171.27. For one Swiss franc, the buying rate is Rs 151.09, and the selling rate is Rs 151.76.

The buying rate for one Australian dollar is set at Rs 84.79, and the selling rate is Rs 85.16. For one Canadian dollar, the buying rate is Rs 94.46, and the selling rate is Rs 94.88. Similarly, the buying rate for one Singapore dollar is Rs 100.08, and the selling rate is Rs 100.53.
The buying rate for 10 Japanese yen is set at Rs 8.66, and the selling rate is Rs 8.70. For one Chinese yuan, the buying rate is Rs 18.64, and the selling rate is Rs 18.72. Similarly, the buying rate for one Saudi Arabian riyal is Rs 36.23, and the selling rate is Rs 36.39. The buying rate for one Qatari riyal is Rs 37.32, and the selling rate is Rs 37.49.
According to the central bank, the buying rate for one Thai baht is Rs 3.98, and the selling rate is Rs 4.00. For one UAE dirham, the buying rate is Rs 37.04, and the selling rate is Rs 37.20. The buying rate for one Malaysian ringgit is Rs 30.32, and the selling rate is Rs 30.45.
The buying rate for 100 South Korean won is set at Rs 9.32, and the selling rate is Rs 9.36. For one Swedish krona, the buying rate is Rs 12.29, and the selling rate is Rs 12.34. Similarly, the buying rate for one Danish krone is Rs 18.96, and the selling rate is Rs 19.05.
The NRB has set the buying rate for one Hong Kong dollar at Rs 17.51 and the selling rate at Rs 17.59. For one Kuwaiti dinar, the buying rate is Rs 441.37, and the selling rate is Rs 443.32. Similarly, the buying rate for one Bahraini dinar is Rs 360.44, and the selling rate is Rs 362.03. The buying rate for one Omani riyal is Rs 353.31, and the selling rate is Rs 354.86.
Likewise, the buying rate for 100 Indian rupees is set at Rs 160.00, and the selling rate at Rs 160.15.
The NRB has stated that this exchange rate can be revised at any time if necessary. It also mentioned that the exchange rates set by commercial banks may vary, and the updated rates will be available on NRB’s website.
