BANKE, Jan 30: The obstruction caused by the construction of an open air theater (Khulla Manch) on the ground at New Road, Kohalpur-11, has been removed. After an agreement was reached between the Urban Development Committee and the Division Forest Office, the obstacle in the construction of the khulla manch has been removed for the time being.
On January 24, when the Urban Development Committee tried to start the construction work, the Division Forest Office created an obstacle, but according to Tikaram Dhakal, member secretary of the Urban Development Committee, it has been agreed to coordinate with the forest office and not create an obstacle in the construction. The Urban Development Committee is going to build an open air theater by awarding a contract for the same.
Theaters back into operation
The forest division office had been obstructing the construction work for a long time. Dhakal, member secretary of the Urban Development Committee, said that since the government documents were all in the name of the Committee, there was an agreement between the two sides to proceed with the construction work. For the construction of the open air theater, the Urban Development Committee has invited contracts and an agreement has been reached.
According to the urban development committee, a tender was called for the construction of the khulla manch last September. The project will be constructed at a cost of Rs 9.9 million. Supreme Construction Services Birendranagar-11, Surkhet, has been entrusted with the construction of the khulla manch through the contract process. Chandra Prakash Khadka, site in-charge of the construction company, said that the work has started after the two parties agreed. According to him, the construction of the open air theater will begin soon. It is mentioned in the contract that the construction should be completed by the mid of July.
