Upper House passes Water and Sanitation Bill

KATHMANDU, July 29: The National Assembly has passed the Water and Sanitation Bill 2079. The meeting of the upper house of the federal parliament on Thursday unanimously passed the bill tabled by Minister for Water Supply Umakant Chaudhary.

KATHMANDU, July 29: The National Assembly has passed the Water and Sanitation Bill 2079. The meeting of the upper house of the federal parliament on Thursday unanimously passed the bill tabled by Minister for Water Supply Umakant Chaudhary.


Minister Chaudhary had presented the bill before the Upper House along with a message from the House of Representatives and a report of the Legislation Management Committee.

Responding to queries raised by MP Prakash Panta on the Bill, Minister Chaudhary shared that the Bill was introduced as it is essential for the implementation of the Constitution and the enforcement of government's policies and programs to fulfill sustainable development goals. 


The National Assembly will meet again on August 8.
