LALITPUR, Feb 11: Minister for Water Supply and Sanitation, Prem Bahadur Singh, has said that drinking water and sanitation has been guaranteed as fundamental rights of people in the new constitution. 


Inaugurating the Changathali Drinking Water Project here on Saturday, Minister Singh said that works of Melamchi Drinking Water Project have been accelerated and a campaign to distribute arsenic-free drinking water in 20 districts of Tarai has been launched after his appointment as the Minister of Water Supply.

On the occasion, Minister Singh released Changathali Darpan and Drinking Water Journal published by Changathali Club as well as distributed letter of felicitation to those helping the drinking water project. 


A total of 1,200 households of the then Ward No 6, 7, 8 and 9 of Tikathali VDC and Ward No 11 Mahalaxmi Municipality have been benefitted from the project. The project was constructed at a cost of around Rs 30 million. RSS
