Universal Dental Sagarmatha Music Award, 2018 concluded at the premises of National Cultural Cooperation (Rastriya Naach Ghar), Kathmandu, on Monday. Responsive Media organized the award function aiming to promote and preserve Nepali culture.

Meanwhile, seven journalists were honored for their contributions to the Nepali arts. Artists also received awards for 44 different categories.
According to Manoj Thapa, chairperson of the organizing committee, the award was based on SMS voting and jury judgment. Chairperson Thapa also promised that the award function would continue every year.
Likewise, folk singer Chandra Kala Shahi was felicitated with the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ for her contributions to the Nepali music industry over five decades. Shahi bagged Rs 17,696 cash price. Shyam Aryal, Laxman Subedi, Kuber Giri, Shreedhar Poudel, Chandramani Gautam and Kiran Prasad Adhikari were conferred by art journalism. Art and vice chairperson of Film Journalist Association Nepal, Geeta Adhikari was also honored by Women Empowerment Journalism.
