KATHMANDU, Jan 5:  A Secretariat meeting of the CPN (Unified Socialist) is taking place today.

The party has called the meeting of its Secretariat to deliberate on key issues such as the National Assembly election and the statute amendment draft.

The meeting is scheduled to take place at the party’s central office in Alok Nagar this afternoon.

In the aftermath of CPN-UML’s quest for a share in the National Assembly, the Unified Socialist has called for a Secretariat meeting.

Today’s discussion is  anticipated to focus on the party’s potential gains within the ruling coalition and address the demands put forth by the UML.

Following attempts by Nepali Congress and Maoist Center to involve the UML in the National Assembly, Unified Socialist Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal expressed his discontent during yesterday’s alliance meeting.
