Unified CPN (Maoist) announce nationwide protests

KATHMANDU, May 31: A secretariat meeting of Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) on Sunday morning announced nationwide protest programs against the speaker´s decision to reject the resolution motion.



The motion was proposed by the Maoist party against the president´s move to reinstate Army Chief Rookmangud Katawal, who was sacked by Maoist-led government.



The Unified CPN (Maoist) has designated the party´s senior leader Mohan Baidya as coordinator of the nationwide protests.



All sister wings of the party will be mobilized in the agitation, said Maoist speaker Dinanath Sharma. The protests include sit-in demonstration in front of district administration offices across the country on June 3 and rallies in villages the following day.



Speaker Subas Nembang had rejected the resolution motion against President Dr Ram Baran Yadav on Saturday.
