UML wins in Bhadrapur Municipality, another blow to NC leader Sitaula

BHADRAPUR, July 6: CPN-UML has clinched many posts including mayoral and deputy mayoral ones in Bhadrapur Municipality, which is the home city of Nepali Congress influential leader Krishna Peasad Sitaula.

BHADRAPUR, July 6: CPN-UML has clinched many posts including mayoral and deputy mayoral ones in Bhadrapur Municipality, which is the home city of Nepali Congress influential leader Krishna Peasad Sitaula.


UML mayoral candidate Jiban Kumar Shrestha and deputy mayoral candidate Chandra Shrestha have emerged victorious defeating their nearest rivals. Jiban Kumar Shrestha won the election by securing 11,045 votes, compared to 7,215 votes for his closest rival Nepali Congress mayoral candidate Ganesh Pokharel.

Likewise, ULM deputy mayoral candidate Chandra Shrestha 10650, compared to 6498 votes for his closest rival Nepali Congress deputy mayoral candidate Tara Devi Bhurtel.


The victory of UML in Bhadrapur Municipality is the second blow to NC  influential leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula. NC also lost the election in Kachankawal Rural Municipality falling under Sitaula's constituency. It was the fist political blow to him.
