Talking to journalists after the meeting, Gyawali said, “There are calls for strengthening party unity, ensuring leadership transition, and promoting generational change — all of which will be addressed through the party’s general convention.”
He added that the meeting concluded that the party must seek answers to all current questions through the general convention and move forward in a new way.
The meeting also reviewed in detail the Gen Z movement of September 8 and 9. Gyawali said, “The voices raised by Gen Z youths on September 8 were natural. They had said their movement would remain peaceful, would not break prohibitory orders, and would stand against bad governance and corruption — but that did not happen.”
He further said that the government should work to maintain national unity, avoid alienating political parties, and foster an environment of unity by bringing the entire nation together. The meeting will resume on Saturday.
