KATHMANDU, July 6: The dispute seen between Chairman K P Oli and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal within the ruling CPN-UML appears nowhere close to consensus even as the two sides have already held several rounds of talks. 

A meeting of the Task Force formed earlier to resolve their dispute failed to reach any consensus to bury their hatchet even on Tuesday.  The Task Force members, however, have agreed to sit again for talks on Wednesday to resolve the differences seen between Chairman Oli and senior leader Nepal.

Gokarna Bista, a member of the Task Force from the Nepal-led faction in the party, said they held discussion in detail about their issues of differences. "Talks are moving in a positive direction. We are meeting again on Wednesday to hold further discussion on the issues of our differences," he said. 

The Task Force has Subas Nembang, Pradip Gyawali, Bishnu Poudel, Bishnu Rimal and Shankar Pokhare from Chairman Oli and Bhim Rawal, Ghanashyam Bhusal, Bista, Raghuji Pant and Surendra Pandey from the Nepal-led faction as members. The Task Force members had earlier held talks on Monday evening as well. 

The dispute between Chairman Oli and senior leader Nepal reached its peak after lawmakers close to Nepal signed in the writ petition filed by Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba against the move of Prime Minister Oli to dissolve parliament. Chairman Oli has argued that the UML lawmakers must withdraw their signatures for consensus with senior leader Nepal.
