KATHMANDU, Nov 30: The CPN-UML has summoned the Parliamentary Party (PP) meeting of the party on Wednesday after the government registered a seven-point constitution amendment proposal amidst protest by the party.
The main opposition party had been protesting the proposal demanding to establish the bases and rationale for making the changes in the constitution at first.
Deputy leader of UML PP, Subas Chandra Nembang said that the meeting will discuss the amendment proposal.
“Although it is a routine meeting, discussions will also be held on the proposal,” said Nembang.
The government had registered a seven-point constitution amendment bill at the parliament secretariat yesterday, proposing, among other things, to take all the hill districts out from Province 5.
