Constitution amendment proposal to be registered within mid-Nov: PM

KATHMANDU, Oct 30: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who had been saying of registering the constitution amendment proposal at the parliament before Tihar, has assured of registering the proposal within mid-November. The Prime Minister said so during a meeting held among CPN(Maoist Center), Nepali Congress (NC) and United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) on Sunday evening.

Chairman of Tarai Madhes Sadhbhawana Party (TMSP) Mahendra Raya Yadav told Republica Online that the Prime Minister assured them of registering the amendment proposal within mid-November after forging a consensus among all sides. 

“During the meeting, PM Dahal accepted that there are some errors in the constitution and said that the government was working to rectify them. UDMF has taken the remark positively,” said Yadav.

The Prime Minister had summoned the meeting following UDMF’s dissatisfaction for dillydallying in registering the amendment proposal.

A leader attending the meeting said that the Prime Minister told the meeting that the government was serious toward UDMF demands and was working to address them.
