KATHMANDU, Jan 7: Chairman of the Madhesi People’s Rights –Democratic (MPRF-D), Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar, said that his party would register amendment proposal on constitution amendment bill already registered in the Legislature-Parliament.
Receiving a memorandum submitted by Reporters' Club here on Saturday, Chairman Gachchhadar argued that the existing problems surfaced in the country would not be resolved if the constitution amendment bill forwarded by the government is not revised as it is incomplete.
He said creating eight provinces, which his party had been voicing for, would resolve the problems and added that the constitution amendment proposal has not addressed the demands of Tharus.
Chairman Gachchhadar said that he and his party have always been playing the role of mediator to give an outlet to the country and pointed out the need of consensus, collaboration and unity among major political parties. RSS
