KATHMANDU, Nov 18: Airing their views at a session of the Legislature-Parliament today, lawmakers drew the attention of the government to various matters.
Majority of them demanded the government declare the date of local poll, bring the constitution amendment proposal and accelerate the post earthquake- rebuilding task.
Taking time at a special hour of the parliament meeting, CPN (Maoist Center)'s Girirajmani Pokhrel expressed concern over the 'slow pace' of the government, stressing that the government should present the constitution amendment proposal at the House soon on the basis of consensus.
Deepak Khadka of Nepali Congress demanded the announcement of the local poll date being based on the existing structure.
CPN (UML)'s Gangalal Tuladhar demanded the allocation of Rs 500,000 from the Parliamentarian's Development Fund to spend in the education for strengthening disaster risk reduction.
Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal's Resham Bahadur Lama said republic brought in the country due to sacrifice of 17,000 people lacks good governance.
Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Democratic)'s Dr Subodh Kumar Pokhrel sought the government attention towards the forest conservation.
Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party's Narsingh Chaudhary insisted on the continuity of programmes unveiled by the government for the relief of people.
Nepa Rastriya Party's Laxman Rajbanshi called on his colleagues to regularly attend the House session for the dignity of parliament. RSS
