KATHMANDU, May 23: CPN-UML has been maintaining lead in the mayoral race of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City with 12, 321 votes.

UML candidate Bidya Sundar Shakya has secured 40, 419 votes so far.

His immediate rival Nepali Congress candidate Raju Raj Joshi is following Shakya with 28, 419 votes.

Bibeksheel Nepali Party candidate Ranju Neupane is in the third position with 14, 617 votes.

Kishore Thapa of Sajha Party is trailing way behind with 10, 817 votes.
